Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:
- Candidates must have a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in LLB Degree (three years professional after graduation or five years after 10+2 examination).
- CLAT PG 2024 Score is mandatory for all candidates (including LLM qualified and LLM appearing candidates
- The candidates should be eligible for registration as advocates with the Bar Council of India/State.
- Candidates should be from a college/university recognized by the Bar Council of India.
Age Limit:
- Minimum Age: 21 years
- Maximum Age: 27 years
- Candidates must be born between 2nd January 1998 and 1st January 2004 (both dates inclusive).

4. Selection Process
The selection process for the Indian Army JAG Entry Scheme consists of several stages:
Phase I – Shortlisting of Applications:
- Applications will be shortlisted based on academic performance and eligibility criteria.
- Only shortlisted eligible candidates will undergo SSB interview at Selection Centres, Allahabad(UP), Bhopal(MP), Bangalore (Karnataka) and Jalandhar (PB).
Phase II – SSB Interview:
Shortlisted candidates will be called for the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview, which will be conducted in two stages.
- Stage I: Screening test including Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests and Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PP&DT).
- Stage II: Psychological tests, group tests, and personal interview.Those who clear Stage I will go to Stage II.
Those who fail in stage I will be returned on the same day. Duration of SSB interview is five days.
Phase III – Medical Examination:

Training and Commission
- Training Duration: 49 weeks at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai.
- Grant of Commission: Successful candidates will be granted Short Service Commission in the rank of Lieutenant.
- Promotion Criteria:
- Lieutenant: On completion of training.
- Captain: On completion of 2 years of commissioned service.
- Major: On completion of 6 years of commissioned service.
- Lt. Colonel: On completion of 13 years of commissioned service.
- Colonel: On selection basis subject to fulfillment of requisite service conditions.
- Brigadier: On selection basis subject to fulfillment of requisite service conditions.
