Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:
  • Only for Unmarried Candidates.
  • Bachelor Degree in Any Stream with Minimum 50% Marks.
  • NCC “C” Certificate.
  • NCC “C” certificate NOT required for Wards of Battle Casualties.

Age Limit:-

  • Minimum Age: 19 years
  • Maximum Age: 25 years (as of 01 January 2025)
  • Candidates should be born between 02 January 2000 and 01 January 2006 (both dates inclusive).

Step-by-Step Guide:

4. Selection Process

The selection process for the Indian Army NCC 57th Batch consists of the following stages:

Phase I – Shortlisting of Applications:

  • Candidates will be shortlisted based on their marks obtained in the degree course and the NCC ‘C’ certificate grading.
  • Only shortlisted eligible candidates will undergo SSB at Selection Centres, Allahabad (Uttar Pradesh), Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Bangalore (Karnataka) and Jalandhar (Punjab).

Phase II – SSB Interview:

  • Shortlisted candidates will be called for the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview, which will be conducted in two stages.

     

    • Stage I: Screening test including Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests and Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PP&DT).
    • Stage II: Psychological tests, group tests, and personal interview.Those who clear Stage I will go to Stage II. 
  • Those who fail in stage I will be returned on the same day. Duration of SSB interview is five days.

Phase III – Medical Examination:

Training and Commission

  • Training Duration: 49 weeks at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai.
  • Grant of Commission: Successful candidates will be granted Short Service Commission in the rank of Lieutenant.
  • Promotion Criteria:
    • Lieutenant: On completion of training.
    • Captain: On completion of 2 years of commissioned service.
    • Major: On completion of 6 years of commissioned service.
    • Lt. Colonel: On completion of 13 years of commissioned service.
    • Colonel: On selection basis subject to fulfillment of requisite service conditions.
    • Brigadier: On selection basis subject to fulfillment of requisite service conditions.
